DID YOU KNOW THAT THE SERVICES OF A PROFESSIONAL REALTOR
ARE CHARGED TO THE SELLER IN VIRTUALLY ALL OF OUR REAL ESTATE TRANSACTIONS?
The way to shop for a home is to find and use a licensed, local Realtor you feel you can trust to guide you through the often confusing process of finding, negotiating for, and purchasing the home you have always wanted.
He or she is not only the LOCAL expert, your Realtor also will become the EXPERT ON YOU: how much you can spend, what you are looking for, and what is important to you. You will have the expert advice and help of someone who helps people buy and sell homes every day.
Your Realtor will help you locate the perfect home for you, whether it is through the MLS, through a private party or with a for sale by owner property.
Once you’ve chosen a Realtor, stick with her.
Here are a few rules:
- Make sure to COMMUNICATE with your Realtor. You are a team and your Realtor needs to know if your plans change, the amount you can spend changes or if you have new ideas about what you want. Don’t call Realtors off of street signs. Call your Realtor and ask them to contact the agent for you.
- If you go into Open Houses or Model Homes, tell them that you are working with a Realtor and want to be represented by them. They will usually honor your request. Call your Realtor and have them contact the Realtor in the home.
- If you see a “For Sale By Owner” that you would like to see, call your Realtor first. Have them call the owner of the home directly and arrange a showing for you. This will ensure that the seller pays for your buyer representation – not you!
Remember that a Buyer’s Agent works for you! It is usually a completely free service that can potentially save you thousands of dollars.
